What, you may ask, is The Renegade Farmer?

Good Question! Here, we strive to make light of old-fashioned farming, old world skills, crafting, green and sustainable lifestyle, and everything in between! We put the “culture” in agriculture, with a mix of sass, fun, and facts!

Yep, we’re “farm fanatics”! Renegade farming is BOTH an online collective of writers (that would be this blog) and an online radio show, hosted by founder Zan Asha.

Why is this renegade? Well, have you SEEN (so called) farming today? Huge corporations overtaking family farms, often using questionable ethics to mass produce food. Factory farms, concentrated feed operations, use of unregulated chemicals…these are just some of what “farming” has become.

We’re here to talk about real farming, real crafting, taking care of ourselves and each other. If we have to buck this current system to go back to a more simple, ethical system, then consider us renegades for sure!

We’ll be talking to all sorts of people, listening to different opinions, and hopefully learning something along the way.
